Guest Speaker: Ike Nwaneri

For this lesson, the focus was on the role of social media and accountability. I presented a short lecture on the existence of legal liability for actions and comments made on social media. It was interesting how most of the boys were curious about about the criminal liability for “sexting.”

After this, Ike Nwaneri presented a lecture on the role of social media in portraying oneself and the double-edged sword that social media can have on student athletes because of the fact that their peers hold them to a higher standard. The Men responded very positively and engaged in dialogue with Ike, sharing their online experiences and discussing how they and others can become conscious social media users.
